Dispose in Brazil!

Every year, Brazil produces almost 37 million tons of organic waste. This residue has the economic potential to become fertilizer, fuel gas and even energy. However, only 1% of what is discarded is reused. In Brazil, around 95 thousand tons of organic waste are produced per year.

The amount of organic waste produced by Brazilians reaches approximately 95 thousand tons per year. With so much waste being produced, thinking about efficient ways to reuse organic waste has ended up becoming a duty for the good of society and companies as a whole.

Waste x Fertilizer?

All over the world, every sustainability practice has to be addressed and put into practice for a better world for everyone, when it comes to organic waste we can somehow collaborate. Composting is a process by which organic waste is transformed into fertilizer, also known as organic compost.

Anaerobic Biodigestion promotes the process of reusing organic waste using a technique carried out in the absence of oxygen. This transformation generates fertilizers and methane gas, which is classified as a fuel.

Did you know?

Around 145 thousand tons of organic waste are thrown into controlled dumps and landfills every day in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Unprocessed food waste puts the health of 170 million people at risk.

Some items such as metals, paper, cardboard, plastics, glass and textiles are elements where their recycling is still reduced, the collection rate of these is only increased with AUTONOMOUS COLLECTORS.

In low-income nations, 75% of discarded waste is organic matter, while in higher-income countries this figure is 36%.”

Hunger in Brazil

At the end of 2020, 19.1 million Brazilians lived with hunger. In 2022, there will be 33.1 million people without anything to eat.

Linked to this we have Food Insecurity, as it is the condition of not having full and permanent access to food, this is where hunger represents its most serious form.

Today in Brazil, 1 basic basket costs around R$ 70.00 reais, with basic items such as: Rice, beans, sugar, flour, oil, egg, pasta, milk, canned sardines and some come with basic cleaning products, such as Detergent and toothbrush.

When discarding organic food throughout the month or with an even smaller parameter in situations where disposal occurs above 10kg, some of the discarded food if it were better ´´dosed“ would be worth the same value as a basic food basket, this considering a period of 15 days practically.

Breeze Sustainable

We have partnerships with several institutions in Macaé that allow us to help and participate in humanitarian actions towards a better world. We avoid discarding products with an expiration date of less than 15 days, participating in direct donations, avoiding the generation of food waste.

We use reused water collected from rain to clean the operations area, reducing the consumption of drinking water.

All of the company’s external lighting is done by capturing solar energy with photovoltaic reflectors.

We collaborate with the disposal of materials and all those that are recyclable, we have the habit of separating the waste generated and sending it for recycling.
